Not all resume writing services deliver the same quality. These are the six criteria that reliably separate the services worth paying for from those that aren't.
- Written from scratch, not from templates. Every resume should be written specifically for you. Services that use pre-built templates produce generic documents that fail to differentiate candidates. Always ask whether your resume will be custom-written following a personal consultation — and ask to see a redacted sample from someone in your industry.

- No visible samples of their work. A credible service will show you examples of what they produce, usually redacted. If a service refuses to show samples — even to paying inquiries — that's a problem.
- Prices that are too low to be viable. A resume written from scratch by a senior Australian writer takes 4–8 hours. If you're paying $99 for a resume, that's either AI or offshore — there is no way to make the numbers work for a local human writer at that price.

What you should actually expect to pay
Pricing in the Australian resume writing market is wide. These are the honest ranges for different career levels, and what drives price up or down.
